Journey to My Recovery #GoFundMe

I was diagnosed in 2013 with an autoimmune disease known as Sjogren’s Syndrome. This disease is a long-term autoimmune disease in which the moisture-producing glands of the body are affected. Other symptoms can include dry skin, a chronic cough, numbness in the arms and legs, feeling tired, muscle and joint pains, and thyroid problems. I also suffer from Fibromyalgia, which means I’m in constant pain.

Over the past 2 or so years I have been in and out of the hospital almost every month due to heart attack-like symptoms (Chest pains, stomach pain, back pain, numbness in arms and legs, etc). After several trips to the ER, and a few stays in the hospital, the doctors don’t really have any answers.

Because of my medical issues, I am unable to hold a job making it extremely hard to pay my medical bills.  Living a some-what normal life has become difficult for me. I ask in good faith that you please try to help me get back on my feet. These medicial bills just keep pouring in and I could really use your help! Even if it’s just $1, $5, or more… If you could find it in your heart to help me, I will be forever grateful for you!

Tweet bookmarking is coming, because you need more clutter in your online life

Twitter, the social network that redefined the term “information overload,” is working on a feature that’ll make it easier to bookmark those cool tweets that deserve a second look.

Announced by several key Twitter employees, including product VP Keith Coleman, the new feature could be called “save for later.”

According to Coleman, this has been a “top request,” and Twitter wants user feedback before they push out a final version of the feature.

And Associate Product Manager at Twitter, Jesar Shah, has implied that the feature might first become available in Japan.

As she pointed out, there are roundabout ways to bookmark a tweet — for example, you can DM it to yourself, like it or retweet it. But a dedicated “save for later” button is probably a better option than cluttering your direct messages and likes.

Shah also shared an “early prototype” of the feature in a short video (below), but said the final version of the feature is “likely to change.” In her example, the feature is simply called “Bookmarks.”

We’ve pinged Twitter about details on this new feature, and will update this post when we hear from them.

If I Were a Plant ~ #poetry #whimsical

Love this!!!!

Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos

If I were a plant, what would I be?
Perhaps not a plant, maybe a tree?
One that grows tall, since I’m really short
Then I can build, a neat little fort
Climb in my house, stationed up high
Breathe in the air, watch the clouds drifting by
Listen, as the birdies, sing in their nests
Yes, this is the place I would love best

But, wait, as a plant, I could grow flowers
People would care for me, hours and hours
Give me a clipping, tame back my roots
Always making sure I look very cute
Until, at last, I am blossoming full
Then out come the scissors, and I feel the pull
Snip, snip, snip, my blooms are all gone
Not exactly my idea of a beauty salon

So what should I be?
A plant or a tree?
I think perhaps
I just like being me

Simpler On-the-Go Publishing: Background Media Uploading for Android

The Blog

Version 8.1 of the WordPress for Android app is now available, with some great enhancements to publishing: background media uploading.

Adding images to a post or page? Now, you can publish — and move on to other things — while your media uploads. No more waiting inside the editor while images gradually upload! Tap the Publish button and the app takes care of finishing the uploads and publishing, leaving you free to leave the post editor and get on with other things.

You can do the same thing while saving drafts. And yes, you can have multiple posts uploading media in the background at once.

We’ve also spruced up the interface, adding notifications so you always know the status of your posts and uploads. Visit your post list at any time for a progress report on all your uploads.

These features work best with the new Beta editor, codenamed “Aztec,”…

Add A Simple Payment Button To Your Premium Or Business Site

The Blog

May 2016: Hajj Flemings, CEO of Rebrand Cities with renowned photographer, Shawn Lee, in a redesigned school bus en route to working with small business owners in Detroit.

Earlier this year, while working in Detroit with small business owners and the Rebrand Cities team, it became clear that entrepreneurs and publishers are looking for a simpler way to accept credit and debit card payments on their sites.

Our Happiness Engineering team — the guardians of our customers — also weighed in, and we knew that we wanted to make an existing process simpler. So we set a design goal of bringing a 15-minute-long process to under a minute — especially for a customer that has never used PayPal before.

So a small team of engineers and designers came together to solve that problem with the intent of releasing a “Version One” with which we could start to understand…

The Blog

We love podcasts: they’re like the blogging version of radio, a medium anyone can jump into and use to share their story. They introduce us to new voices and give us glimpses into new perspectives… and they pair perfectly with blogs and websites, where they can add more texture and interest to what you’re already publishing.

Thanks to a new partnership with RadioPublic, you can choose from a quarter of a million podcasts to embed into your posts and pages on and Jetpack-powered websites.
